Technology has transformed the conventional bikes and the advancement is still continuing to transform the bikes. Some of the upcoming technological changes in the bikes are as follows:

Adaptive headlight

A bike rider always has tough time while riding the bike at night. This is because the headlight illuminates only a portion of the road. This makes the visibility for a rider difficult at night. The situation is worse on turns or road curves. It is difficult to see animals, curves, corners, potholes, and condition of the road with limited light. Adaptive headlight is the technological solution for this limitation.

Milwaukee-based firm J.W. Speaker has come up with adaptive headlights. The sensors present in the headlight calculate the lean angle on turns and divert the light to the areas required. This is not possible in the traditional head lights.

Adaptive headlights, according to American Automobile Association can provide up to 90 percent safety from crashes on curves.

Skully helmet

Skully, a Silicon Valley-based start-up has come up with ‘AR-1’. The helmet that allows you to listen to music and check GPS without a flick of finger.

Advanced technology like voice recognition and augmented reality have paved the way for such advancement. The rider can use the phone, GPS, and listen to music with this helmet.

Liquid cooled engine

A bike’s highlight is the roaring sound, which is a head turner when on the road. However, people are now turning towards low-sound bikes.

Bikes generally have traditional air cooled engine. Instead, these days liquid cooled engine has become popular. The main advantage of such an engine is not only the low sound but also its better utility. Liquid cooled engines have structured closed design, which produces less sound and heat. The engine is cooled more often by liquid cooled engines in comparison to air cooled ones. This makes the engine less heated and enhances the durability of the bike.

A liquid cooled engine cools the hot spots on the engine cylinders more evenly in comparison to an air cooled engine. This provides more efficiency to the bikes.

Stability control system

Maintaining stability is one of the most important things that every bike rider should know. Steering dampers, shock absorbers, and good-quality tires help in maintaining stability. However, under adverse circumstances like wet road or loss of control, the falling or skidding of the bike is inevitable.

With Bosch Stability Control, such situations could be avoided. The stability of the bike is controlled by a computer. If it notices loss of balance, despite of what the rider is doing, disc and control brakes are applied instantly. This is helpful when driving on an uneven road with several turns.

The advent of such technology would provide safety to the rider. However, it is advisable to avail of a two-wheeler insurance. This would protect the riders in case of any untoward incidents, thus giving them more confidence. Such an insurance would prevent financial constraints in case of incidents like accidents and provide for a pleasant bike journey.
